Escape rooms are inherently mysterious

You only really know what you’re getting yourself into when you’re the one that’s crossing the threshold! The mystery that surrounds the concept has led to the circulation of a series of myths and untruths that can be easily debunked when the experts get involved! Let’s take a look then, shall we?

Myth #1: They’re Boring!

With all due respect, this couldn’t be further from the truth! The escape rooms are immersive, challenging and engaging; culminating in the perfect gaming storm! We’re talking about a range of unique puzzles, custom-made props & décor, and brilliantly nuanced storylines. Seriously, the unpredictability of what lies within the confines of each room will keep you on your toes from start to finish!

Myth #2: No Help Given…

This is a common misconception that puts off a lot of people from trying out their first escape room. You’re given a limited time of 60 minutes to complete the game – which is more than enough for the average group – but the uninitiated among us typically assume that they’ll be left to their own devices once they’re stuck on a particularly challenging section of the room. This is not true! The game masters will be watching from the control room and can offer directions with the help of the interior speaker system!

Myth #3: Strict Time Limit

Time is of the essence! The timed element helps to create a sense of excitement and builds pressure as the clock ticks down. Limiting the amount of time you’re given forces each group to get immediately stuck into the process with no room for dilly-dallying! The game masters will remind you if you’re running out of time and will provide the necessary assistance if you’re falling too far behind. You’ll never be asked to leave a room unfinished!

Myth 4: You’ll Struggle With Fewer People

Quality over quantity! The number of players in your group really doesn’t matter at all: we’ve seen both large and small groups struggle in equal measure. What does matter is the quality of teamwork within each group? How you interact and communicate with one another will have a huge difference in the outcome of your escape attempt! Delegate tasks, act decisively and speak up! There’s a leader inside all of us!
